Job Type: Contract Job Category: IT Role: AWS Cloud Architect Location: Salt Lake City - Remote Long term Contract ROLE_DESCRIPTION - Seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Architect who will design, implement, and manage secure, scalable AWS infrastructure to support critical business applications. This role requires strong hands-on AWS experience, automation skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Preferred Skills & Qualifications Overall Exp 15+ • Experience: 5+ years in AWS cloud engineering or DevOps roles. • AWS Expertise: EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Route 53, ALB/NLB. • IaC: Proficient in Terraform and/or CloudFormation. • Scripting: Python, Bash, or similar. • CI/CD: Experience with pipelines and automation tools. • Containers: Docker, ECS/EKS. • Networking: VPC design, subnets, security groups, NACLs. • Security: IAM policies, KMS, Secrets Manager. • Soft Skills: Strong troubleshooting and communication skills. • AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps, DevOps Engineer). • Experience with multi-account setups and landing zones. Key Responsibilities • Design, implement, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure for business-critical applications. • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation. • Configure and manage AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, Route 53, CloudFront). • Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of cloud-based systems. • Monitor and optimize cloud resources for cost and performance using CloudWatch and Trusted Advisor. • Implement CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, or similar tools. • Manage containerized workloads using ECS, EKS, or Docker. • Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues. • Apply AWS security best practices and compliance standards. • Collaborate with development teams to design cloud-native solutions. • Maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies. • Document cloud architecture, processes, and configurations. • Support cloud migration and modernization projects. • Conduct performance testing and capacity planning.
