About the position

Collaborates with and assists the Epic Education Manager with oversight of department day-to-day operations. The main focus is supporting implementations and go-lives at facilities a substantial distance from Parkview. Leads the work and team members to promote and develop the highest level of team performance, productivity, and efficiency. Leads and mentors team members in maintenance, development, and ongoing EHR (Epic) Education, ensuring consistency in standards. Proactive in identifying opportunities for team processes and EHR system improvement and knowledge sustainment. Mentors team in providing specific EHR (Epic) education, training, and support to new and existing users in various healthcare settings. Possesses a high knowledge level for EHR applications and acts as a resource to team members, peers, and clients. Exhibits in-depth expert knowledge proficiency in many Epic applications, from a functional perspective. Exhibits expert troubleshooting and critical thinking skills to solve service line as well as system-wide problems. Actively participates in the ongoing training and development of Epic Educators. Directly involved with curriculum development of both classroom and digital education tools. Performs Instructional Design duties by evaluating, adapting, and developing instruction based on learner needs. Involved in project implementation as a primary education resource. Leads Discovery/Site visits to prepare Educators and provide analysis to the Implementation Teams. Leads on-site go-live support resources during new implementations. Senior Specialists may be called on to manage assignments of complex portions of projects. Performs all key functions of the Epic Education Analyst and Education Specialist roles. Assists manager with LMS and other administrative/lead duties, as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, education, information technology, or related field required.
  • Epic credentialing status in minimum of 5 applications required at time of hire.
  • Must remain current with all versions of the electronic health record.
  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • Minimum requirement of 8 years experience in education, healthcare or other related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Epic Education role required.
  • Must demonstrate subject expertise in a minimum of 3 EHR applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbal, with providers, co-workers, executives, technical teams, end users, or any other stakeholders.
  • Work varied and flexible hours and travel to various organizational locations, in order to implement solutions at the conveniences of the customer.
  • Exhibits leadership abilities, effective interpersonal communication, skilled at complex problem solving with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability in building collaborative relationships with team, providers, end-user, and other departments/disciplines in the organization.
  • Proven ability to perform multiple priorities and work effectively in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • OnBase or Fluency Direct experience preferred.
  • Epic Reporting experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical information systems, data management, administration, EHR and data analytics preferred.
