About the opportunity

As the General Manager of tMart in Jordan, you will be responsible for the P&L and overall success of the dark store business of talabat in Jordan. The role will involve leading a team of close to 400 ftes, including 250+ operational staff in the stores.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for setting the overall commercial and operations strategy for tMart in Jordan.

  • Identify new market opportunities together with the team and set targets for revenue and growth while formulating the business strategy with the platform team.

  • Identify and pursue opportunities for business growth such as partnerships, collaborations and build relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.

  • Partner with the marketing and growth team to develop strategies for acquisition and retention of customers, including marketing campaigns, analysis of customer clusters and market planning optimization.

  • Be accountable for enhancing customer experience by evaluating service quality and customer satisfaction levels and working with the logistics and customer experience team to identify gaps and solve them. 

  • Partner closely with the local and regional logistics team to drive and improve delivery experience for our customers.

  • Collaborate with the Managing Director of Jordan and the Head of local shops to achieve growth targets and also drive synergies and optimization. 

  • Accountability for the P&L of the business and ensuring that financial targets are met. He/She will work closely with the finance team to prepare financial reports and forecasts.

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the business, including resolving operational issues and identifying ways to drive process efficiency, improving productivity and optimizing workflows.

  • Works closely with the product development team to define product roadmaps, prioritize features and ensure that they are meeting the requirements of the market.

  • Identify potential risks to the business and develop strategies to mitigate them.

  • Assess market risks, regulatory risks and operational risks that could impact the company’s success.


What you need to be successful

  • At least 10+ years of experience  in e-commerce, quick commerce or consumer retail, or CPG. 

  • Experience in building and leading cross-functional teams and have led projects at scale.

  • Detail-oriented, structured and knows how to prioritize and problem solve and deliver solutions for the business.

  • Driven to succeed and be willing to roll up his/her sleeves when required to get the job done.

  • High ability in managing senior stakeholders and building strong relationships. 

  • Able to work with ambiguity and see every challenge as a learning opportunity.

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, and always like to be hands-on with several tools.

  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills, with the ability to inspire others to rally behind a mission.

  • Well networked within the CPG industry and with relevant authorities.
