Job Title:
Head of Department (HOD) Mathematics Teacher Due to the continued success of GEMS Wesgreen International School, Sharjah, we are seeking to recruit a Head of Department (HOD) Mathematics Teacher to start in August 2025.
The post holder will lead, manage, and be accountable for the quality of the school's curriculum provision, promoting the fulfillment of the school's mission.
As a Middle Leader and part of the Middle Leadership Team, the post holder will be expected to:
Articulate a vision for the Mathematics Department aligned with the school's ethos and vision.
Lead, manage, coordinate, develop, monitor, and evaluate the mathematics curriculum across the school.
Contribute to planning, resource management, policy development, and implementation through effective leadership of the Mathematics Department.
Ensure high expectations and standards in all aspects of school life.
Support the day-to-day organization and management of the school.
Be accountable to senior leadership and ultimately to the Principal/CEO.
Contribute to the school's Performance Management program where appropriate.
The role encompasses five key aspects:
Promoting student development, progress, and well-being.
Leading teaching, learning, and policy within the Mathematics Department.
Leading and managing staff and teams.
Managing resources effectively.
Representing and promoting the Mathematics Department.

Skills and Qualifications:
BEd or Bachelor's degree in Mathematics with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent.
