**Position: Housekeeping Manager** **Department**: Housekeeping **Validity** :2 years [from sign off] **Location**: Doha, Qatar **I. Job Objective**: The Housekeeping Manager’s role is to plan, organise, direct, control and evaluate the housekeeping services of the palace to ensure the expectations are being met or exceeded. The Housekeeping Manager should ensure that the work place is kept clean and organised, both at the front as well as the back of the house; assist in liaising with other departments so that the established cleaning schedules are strictly adhered to. The Housekeeping Manager ensures appropriate resources are provided to the team in operations on a daily basis. To co-ordinate with engineering, report and follow-up on the maintenance concerns. To assist in managing the department as a professional, efficient and flexible service department by following health and safety protocols and company’s set SOP standards. To be a positive and enthusiastic leader and take care of the team in their charge. **II. General Description**: - Adhere to the palace safety and security protocols. - Respect the privacy and the confidentiality of the establishment. - Housekeeping product knowledge upkeep and well versed with latest market trends. - Excellent personal grooming & hygiene levels. - Expert in cleaning and hygiene standards. - Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment. - Strong stakeholder relationship, leadership skills and a keen eye for detail. - Active listening, team spirit and effective communication skills. - Must be able to work in outdoor areas. - Flexibility to work in shifts or as per operational demand. **III. Duties and Responsibilities**: - Understand and strictly adhere to the rules & regulations of the company and the palace’s policy on fire, hygiene, health and safety. - Responsible for the operation of the housekeeping department in the absence of Executive Housekeeper. - Organize departmental meetings with direct reports frequently to review the overall team’s performance in operations. - Hold daily briefings along with direct reports to ensure operational staff are brought up to speed with any shortfalls in service standards. - Ensure staff trainings are being delivered on time and provide support, coaching, guidance wherever required. - Ensure team spirit and morale is positive. Lead by example, mentor and guide wherever applicable. - Develop and manage the performance management system where staff performance is tracked and yearly appraisals are carried out in order to promote a healthy and transparent work atmosphere. - Work closely with the housekeeping team and gather feedback in order to make continuous improvements in service and product. - To conduct frequent inspections together with the Housekeeping Supervisor, related to cleanliness and standard of the palace. - Work closely with the team to minimise waste. Make sure stock inventory is being carried out diligently and daily, weekly and monthly reports are shared with Executive Housekeeper. - Intimately familiar with the palace lay-out, location, decor, in room facilities, equipment, storage, entrances and exits. - Need to ensure all OHS, hygiene standards are being followed by the team in operations and in line with the local regulations. - Work closely with the Executive Housekeeper to ensure the section operates within the allocated annual budget. - Ensure all housekeeping service SOP’s and manuals are updated. All updates must be shared and approved by Executive Housekeeper and Palace Manager before implementation. - To carry out quarterly inventory of operating equipment. - To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned. - To assist in planning the weekly rosters and work schedules. - To maintain the work place communication board. - To report lost & found items and handle in accordance to the policy & procedures. - Daily operational report needs to be shared with Executive Housekeeper. Any urgent matters need to be brought to Executive Housekeeper attention immediately. **IV. Education**: - Basic 10+2 school education. - Any additional Diploma in Hospitality / University degree in similar field is an added advantage. **V. Experience**: - Minimum 1-2-year experience in a similar leadership role at 5-star hotels, restaurants or in similar hospitality fields but not essential. **VI. Additional Skills**: - Must be able to lift 20 pounds and must be able to bend, crouch, or kneel for short periods. - Must be a fast-paced worker and work well with others. - Must be able to carry out their tasks with mínimal supervision. - Must have initiative and a sense of ownership. - Positive attitude, creative and good communication skills. - Commitment to delivering the highest level of customer service. - Flexibility to respond to a variety of different work situations and ability to work on your own. **Job Types**: Full-time
