JOB SUMMARY:

This position will support Trade Compliance Management by ensuring export and/or import compliance with U.S. Department of Commerce, State, Customs and other government agencies (OGA) regulations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • General understanding and wide application of applicable U.S. Trade compliance regulations, policies, and concepts. General knowledge of other related government agency regulations.

  • Ability to understand, implement, and coach applicable U.S. Government concepts and regulations as well as related Textron Aviation regulatory compliance policies.

  • Properly classify parts, tooling, software, and technology using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the U.S. (HTSUS), the Schedule B, the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

  • Research engineering drawings, specifications, and other data to analyze part function and material(s) of construction as well as identify design origin, reasons for Engineering Changes, serial effectivity, and suitability for commercial end-use.

  • Coordinating and developing compliance solutions with other departments.

  • Recommending and implementing changes to company compliance processes and data elements.

  • Determining and maintaining import/export classifications, tariff classifications, U.S. Customs entry, and licensing information and requirements used by the Company.

  • Oversees and monitors all import and/or export compliance procedures relative to assigned job functional area. (I.e. activities of assigned area(s) typically at a program level, to ensure compliance).

  • Will be required to assist all functional areas of the company on issues concerning regulatory compliance, as necessary.

  • Participates in compliance reviews, projects and training efforts; act on behalf of management, as required.

  • Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in engineering, information systems, business, or related field and Minimum of 2 years of relative experience and knowledge of U.S. Trade and other government agencies regulations required (e.g., EAR, ITAR, HTSUS, Schedule B, FDA, EPA, FCC).

OR

  • In lieu of degree a minimum 7 years of direct regulatory or relative industry experience, with a minimum of 2 years of relative experience and knowledge of U.S. Trade and other government agencies regulations required (e.g., EAR, ITAR, HTSUS, Schedule B, FDA, EPA, FCC).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy is required.

  • Strong team member that is able to work collaboratively with others in a fast-pasted environment with demonstrated capabilities in problem-solving and/or development of standard operating procedures and processes.

  • Ability to develop and provide training.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Textron Aviation Inc. must comply with U.S. export control laws. This position requires access to information controlled under U.S. regulations applicant must be eligible to meet any requirements to access controlled information. The ability to respond to inquiries and handle multiple simultaneous tasks while maintaining a positive approach at all times is essential in this schedule driven environment.
