JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY


The CAD Drafter shall draft and prepare complete and accurate working plans, charts, scale drawings, and revisions for various projects; integrating skilled drafting methods and procedures with the operation and application of computer-aided design equipment and software.


Hybrid work environment:3-4 days onsite/1-2 days remote


JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS


Draft and prepare complete and accurate product drawings from observation, measurements, sketches, and specifications, utilizing CAD software

Prepare electronic layouts, charts, detailed scale drawings including materials and equipment requirements using sketches and specifications.

Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas and related data to assess factors affecting component or machinery designs, and the procedures and instructions to be followed.

Creates layout, product specifications and drawings for outside vendor sourced items; review schematics and answer related questions.

Organize and maintain current and archive files of CAD drawings; assist with organizing and storing electronic engineering drawing files; set and maintain standard for CAD drawing templates to ensure consistency and accuracy within the company.

Provide technical guidance and direction for various departments, including but not limited to Quality, Production and Purchasing, in interpretation, creation and implementation of specifications and requirements in use of CAD files.

Setting up and converting drawing formats and configuration files to be compatible with CATIA so as to support global Engineering Change Notice process and Enterprise Resource Planning conversion.

Attend scheduled meetings as required or assigned.

Performs other duties as required or assigned.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


Knowledge of computer programs such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel and Word, SmarTeam, SAP, LiveLink

Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics and their applications

Knowledge of technical drawing

Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 desired

Strong oral and written communication skills

Ability to analyze product designs and translate into drawings

Ability to pay close attention to detail

Ability to work with others in a team environment


Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

CAD certifications and/or a degree in Engineering Technology or related field

1-2 years of related experience

CATIA experience strongly desired
