Shift Type: Full Time and Part Time available

Pay Range: $22.00 to $24.00 per hour

Durango River Gear is focused primarily on gear for the river and lakes to include rafts, frames, coolers, inflatable kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, PFD's, helmets, river maps, etc. we offer just about everything to get our customers out on the water for single and multi-day trips. We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual(s) to join our team as an Outdoor Retail Sales & Shipping Coordinator.

In this role, you'll play a crucial part in sales, shipping, inventory control, and customer service within our outdoor retail shop. You will work with customers face to face, by phone, and email to ensure they get the right gear for their next adventure. Your responsibilities will include sales, managing shipping and receiving, assisting with day to day shop operations, handling rentals, and maintaining a clean and organized shop environment.

The ideal candidate(s) will have experience in the outdoor retail industry, customer service, and sales.

Essential Job Duties:

· Grow sales and assist with selling gear and equipment in the shop

· Contribute to meeting and exceeding overall sales goals

· Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and business partners

· Engage in conversation with customers and demonstrate a passion for products by helping the customer make informed decisions and get the best gear for their needs in person, over the phone, and by email.

· Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times

· Demonstrate strong communication, organization, attention to detail and problem solving skills

· Prepare items for shipment via ground and freight, including measuring boxes, assembling pallets, weighing items, and verifying shipping information

· Manage shipping and receiving of inventory and maintain accurate inventory records and ensure stock levels are adequate

· Assist in merchandising and organization of the store

· Perform light cleaning duties to maintain a clean, inviting and organized shop environment

Other Duties:

· Physical Demands: Meet the physical requirements of lifting, bending, carrying, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 75 lbs., and occassionally items over 100 lbs. Retrieve products from heights of greater than 6 ft, stand for extended periods.

· Manage and oversee gear rentals during the summer season

· Assist in all other assigned duties

Required Job Qualifications:

· Previous customer service and sales experience

· Proficiency with computers and office programs

· Deal effectively and diplomatically with customers and coworkers

· Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

· Physical work involving lifting, standing, and other physical activities.

· Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

· Excellent customer service skills

Preferred Job Qualifications:

· Knowledge of outdoor gear and equipment, particularly brands carried by the store

· Previous experience in the outdoor retail industry preferred

· Experience in shipping and receiving

· Experience with inventory management

· Social Media experience is a plus

· Graphics experience is a plus

· Experience with ecommerce sales and Shopify platform is a plus

Minimum Qualifications:

· High School diploma or G.E.D, preferred associate or bachelor’s degree

· One year customer service and sales experience

· Valid driver's license with a clean driving history

· Flexible availability, including weekends
