Constantly grow as you work hard for a mission that matters at a company where you matter.</p><p><strong>Your Impact <br></strong>Axon seeking a well-versed Data Analytics Engineer with expertise in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Power BI, and/or SSRS to support and enhance analytics for Axon software applications. This role is responsible for configuring system databases, designing and maintaining scalable analytics solutions, and developing reports and dashboards tailored to customer needs. The ideal candidate will work with data engineers, business stakeholders, and customers. They will make visualizations and reports that are easy to understand. They will also develop training strategies, create instructional materials, and provide support resources for deployment. Robust analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate proficiently with both technical and non-technical audiences are essential.</p><p><strong>What You’ll Do <br></strong><strong>Location: </strong>Hybrid in office + up to 50% travel required.<br>Must be within commutable distance to one of our Hub locations listed below:<br>(Scottsdale AZ, Seattle WA, Boston MA, Atlanta GA)<br><strong>Reports to: </strong>Director, Data Integration and Architecture</p><ul><li>Develop and maintain data pipelines, models, and dashboards to support business analytics and reporting needs.</li><li>Partner with our public safety client agencies to understand their business processes, organizational needs, and how our products achieve their digital transformation objectives for their reporting and analytics needs</li><li>Configure system databases to prepare the Axon Records, and Standards analytics</li><li>Author and configure Power BI and/or SSMS reports, dashboards, and analytics as needed for our customers</li><li>Train public safety agencies on Power BI and/or SSMS reporting capability in Axon’s applications</li><li>Build tools that support our clients to successfully manage and navigate the digital transformation journey within their own agencies</li><li>Create training strategies and plans. Also, make instructional materials for introducing customer software.</li><li>Use effective instructional design methodologies and technologies as it relates to reporting & analytics</li><li>Communicate testing plans, training plans, activities, and outcomes to appropriate internal and external stakeholders</li><li>Partner with key stakeholders including Axon Academy on the development of eLearning training assets and delivery via Axon’s learning management system</li><li>Partner with the product engineering teams to assess content, system developments/customization to maintain testing/training materials, and update for clients as needed</li><li>Be a product subject matter expert (SME) in crime analytics and reporting</li><li>Optimize data models and queries for performance and efficiency.</li><li>Leverage AI tools (eg., Cursor, Claude, Gemini) to accelerate SQL query development, dashboard building and data model optimization.</li><li>Lead complex, multi-agency analytics implementations end to end with minimal supervision</li><li>Mentor and Provide technical guidance to juinior team members</li><li>Drive best practices for SQL development, dashboard design, template versioning and data modeling across the team</li><li>serve as primary technical SME and escalation point for customer analytics issues</li></ul><p><strong>What You Bring</strong></p><ul><li>7+ years of experience delivering and/or managing public safety software testing, training, and/or implementation projects</li><li>Demonstrated ability to operate independently on ambigious, high-visibility projects</li><li>Experience mentoring or technically leading peers</li><li>Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in computer science/data analytics is preferred</li><li>Proficiency in SQL management studio, Power BI, or similar reporting language</li><li>Familiarity with AI assisted development tools to write, optimize and troubleshoot SQL queries and build dashboards more efficiently</li><li>Deep level knowledge of Public Safety crime analysis is preferred</li><li>Top-notch communication skills and the ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical customers/colleagues.</li><li>Exposure to software development and continuous process improvement processes</li><li>Proven success in transforming raw content into informative, engaging, and compelling learning experiences</li><li>Must be able to write clear copy, instructions, and messages for both internal and external audiences, as well as scripts for audio and video.</li><li>Must pass a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) background check and maintain confidential and highly sensitive information.</li></ul><p> </p><strong><strong>Benefits that Benefit You</strong></strong><ul><li>Competitive salary and 401k with employer match</li><li>Discretionary paid time off</li><li>Paid parental leave for all</li><li>Medical, Dental, Vision plans</li><li>Fitness Programs</li><li>Emotional & Mental Wellness support</li><li>Learning & Development programs</li><li>And yes, we have snacks in our offices</li></ul><p><em>Benefits listed herein may vary depending on the nature of your employment and the location where you work</em></p><p></p> <p>Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards.
