Sr. Maintenance Technician

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH 

 

As a Sr. Maintenance Technician reporting to the D2 Maintenance Supervisor, you'll work with a highly motivated team skilled in industrial maintenance to maintain and repair plastics manufacturing equipment in extrusion, thermoforming and injection molding processes.  

Shift:  

D2: F/S/SU and every other Monday – 5:30 am – 5:30 pm  

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

 

The candidate needs to have demonstrated strong problem-solving ability necessary to identify defects and repair industrial equipment. To be successful in this role a candidate should have familiarity and training with electrical, mechanical, and fluid system safety, diagnostics, and repair.  

Required Skills & Experience:  

  • High School diploma or GED 

  • Post high school Technical/Vocational school degree or education or related Military training in industrial maintenance technology and industrial electrical systems 

  • 3 years industrial/manufacturing maintenance experience, preferably in plastics manufacturing 

  • Electrical safety, troubleshooting, and repair experience including 

  • PLC control systems (Siemens and Allen Bradley preferred) 

  • AC electrical systems and components up to 3-phase 480-volt 

  • DC electrical systems and components  

  • Replacement of components including drives, motors, pumps, heaters, switches and HMI panels  

  • Experience working with basic hand tools, machine shop equipment, precision measuring instruments, digital multi-meters, cutting and welding equipment  

  • Ability to read and understand documentation and drawings for mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems   

  • Personal computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and background using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). SAP is preferred.  

  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including possible evenings, weekends, and holidays. 

  • Able to lift objects up to 50lbs  

Preferred Skills & Experience:  

  • Experience working with plastic processing equipment and processes including extrusion, thermoforming, injection molding, and support equipment such as driers, loaders and transfer systems.  

  • Experience and/or certification working with common Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and variable frequency drives 

  • Experience and/or certification working with industrial automation and robotics (Denso and ABB preferred) 

  • Familiarity with reliability-based maintenance programs and principles  

  • Ability to be certified to operate forklifts, man lifts, and scissor lifts

  • Our 24/7 production facilities rely on experienced industrial maintenance professionals to perform preventative maintenance, deploy projects to decrease downtime, and quickly respond to equipment issues and return assets to production. Our Maintenance team supports the facility in teams aligned to each of the four shifts.  

  • As a Sr. Maintenance Technician you will be working alongside one of these teams supporting one of our production shifts.   • You will make repairs or modifications to production equipment utilizing your skills in:  Controls, drawings, electrical, general mechanics, hand tools, hydraulics, machine shop, piping systems, PLC knowledge, pneumatics, RF, troubleshooting, welding, and programming 

  • As a Sr. Maintenance Technician, you will perform PMs on production equipment and determine through these regular inspections the repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent failure of production equipment and improve reliability.  

  • As needed contact vendors, research problems, identify potential components, order maintenance machine parts. Track and turn in repairable flagged parts. Elevate part issues to supervisor/management quickly with potential solutions if known.
