About the position

The Business Management job is responsible for providing strategic support for the assigned business area. While focusing on high level projects, this job executes strategic business management consulting to leaders by analyzing metrics and presentations to support business strategies, driving business management policies and routines, and being the central point of contact for leaders in the execution of business management tasks. This job is considered a subject matter expert in the Business Management area. This role serves as Director, Business Management to help provide partnership support to the Central and West Regions within TIAA's Wealth Management Distribution business.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a day-to-day technical/functional expert in assigned area and makes decisions on tactical issues that impact the business.
  • Maintains and supports implementation of policies and procedures in support of the business area strategy.
  • Implements process improvements.
  • Analyzes and reports on area data (financial, headcount, etc.) and performance metrics.
  • Supports business management projects by monitoring and tracking risks, issues and action items.
  • Drives and oversees meeting planning in support of business projects and objectives.
  • Influences the development of new strategic initiatives through tracking budgets and milestones.

Requirements

  • 5+ years required, 7+ years preferred in the following business management skills and qualifications:
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and think critically
  • Excellent project management capabilities for complex, large-scale initiatives
  • Demonstrated business performance measurement experience
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment
