Purpose of RoleThe Under Armour Enterprise Architecture team is responsible for ensuring alignment between architectural roadmaps, business strategies, and supporting enterprise transformation activities. The team is currently seeking a Sr Lead Enterprise Architect with an application specialization in Commerce. This role helps ensure the application portfolio aligns with business needs, enterprise standards and industry best practices. The architect produces detailed documentation for applications, projects, processes, governance, patterns, principles and integrations. This role also partners closely with technical leaders, solution architects and stakeholders to ensure alignment, integrate new technologies, rationalize redundant applications, produce architecture roadmaps, provide insight into industry trends and drive innovation. The ideal candidate has extensive experience as a lead engineer or solutions architect in the Commerce space and experience operating within TOGAF or similar Enterprise Architecture framework. Your Impact Design scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions aligned with business goals Develop technical architecture, data flows and diagrams for new initiatives, current state and target system architectures Develop and socializes multi-horizon roadmaps and capability maps aligned to business strategy, value streams and funding cycles Guide and educate on architecture strategy, integration standards, and industry trends across a varied composable commerce ecosystem Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Mentor lead engineers and solution architects in modern architecture practices, composable design, and documentation quality Translate business requirements into technical specifications Build prototypes for new initiatives and evolving business needs Assist in discovery and RFx processes Support audit and compliance activities Produce clear, auditable artifacts and lead architecture reviews Contribute to cybersecurity, privacy and AI governance workflows – streamline intake, clarify decision criteria and reduce cycle time Stay current with industry trends and hands on development

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 14 years of relevant experience OR Bachelor's degree+10 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree+8 years of relevant experience
  • Domain Expertise: Proven expertise architecting composable/MACH commerce solutions spanning Omni experiences (Endless Aisle, BORIS, Ship from Store, Pick up in Store), Retail, and commerce platforms (eg SFCC, Shopify, CommerceTools, etc). 2+ years of experience with various programming languages such as Node.js, Next.js, Nest.js including CI/CD pipelines and code repositories like Github.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in performance engineering, observability, secure system design (zero-trust, privacy), relational databases, Git, command line, and modeling tools.
  • Strategic Influence: Effective at aligning cross-functional stakeholders, driving consensus in matrixed environments, and connecting architecture decisions to business outcomes and value realization.
  • Global Systems Leadership: Experience launching and supporting highly available, mission-critical systems worldwide; familiar with RFx processes and enterprise-grade resiliency patterns.
  • Communication & Storytelling: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical topics for non-technical audiences through clear writing and executive-level storytelling. Can assess and understand technology’s business impacts and optimize the user journey for a seamless experience.
