With the growth of data services some of our customer’s mobile wireless networks are being enhanced with LTE infrastructure for applications such as APX Next Smart and live mobile video transmission supplementing our traditional core voice and narrowband data networks.<h2><br>Job Description</h2><p><b><span>Note: This is a remote in Florida, this requires travel (25-50%) to support projects in the T4FL territory with focus in South Florida.  </span></b></p><p></p><p>The Systems Engineer will be responsible for the public safety design and implementation of solutions for Motorola’s ASTRO 25 and adjacent technologies for State and Local government agencies. We are looking for Engineers who are energized by delivering solutions that truly make a difference.Note: This is a remote position with travel (25-50%) to support projects in T4W sub territory.</p><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p><br><b>Engineer of Record Project Responsibilities:</b></p><p></p><p>The Systems Engineer will work with a field team of Project Management, Systems Engineers, System Technologists, Construction Managers, and Customer Service Managers, and will be responsible for leading technical aspects of the assigned project until system acceptance.</p><p>This involves:</p><ul><li><p>Design and implementation of the radio network including infrastructure, subscribers, mobile backhaul and WAN and CEN networks.</p></li><li><p>High level of customer and consultant interaction involving customer design reviews, customer witnessed staging and acceptance testing events, coverage acceptance testing, live system upgrades, and troubleshooting efforts.</p></li><li><p>System buildout, configuration and acceptance testing in both lab staging and field environments</p></li><li><p>Radio coverage testing, frequency analysis and interference mitigation</p></li><li><p>Radio system licensing (FCC/Industry)</p></li><li><p>Preparation of system fleet map, encryption and radio programming templates</p></li><li><p>Complete system documentation</p></li><li><p>Live system cutovers and upgrades</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Additional Skills/Knowledge:</b></p><ul><li><p>Radio Frequency Engineering principles</p></li><li><p>Land / Mobile Radio Engineering principles</p></li><li><p>RFDS principles to include antenna and cable selection, transmit combiners, receive multi-couplers, and lightning protection systems.</p></li><li><p>P25 Land Mobile Radio terminology and two-way subscriber radio provisioning methods.</p></li><li><p>Experience with Motorola ASTRO 25 architecture is a plus.</p></li><li><p>Servers and related systems to include: VMware ESXI, Linux, and Microsoft operating systems.</p></li><li><p>Construction of remote communication sites to include:  site selection, grounding, compound development, tower and shelter requirements.</p></li><li><p>Fortinet and Juniper firewalls, Nokia 7705 series routers, Juniper SRX/MX (Junos) series routers, HP/Aruba and Juniper switches</p></li><li><p>Remote access using SSH, SCP, SFTP, RDP</p></li><li><p>Knowledge with point-to-point Microwave systems, Microwave RF & Network design</p></li><li><p>FCC licensing and frequency search</p></li><li><p>Software applications integration, Application Protocol Interfaces (API) concepts, computer operating systems, and the OSI model.</p></li><li><p>Networking protocols and devices including OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS, SIP, RTP, SNMP, NAT, routers, switches, and stateful packet firewalls.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of physical layer such as fiber, copper, and microwave.</p></li><li><p>Certifications a plus through CompTIA Network+, Juniper JNCIA-Junos, Nokia NRS1, CCNA or similar a plus.</p></li><li><p>Works collaboratively and builds relationships with other colleagues, customers, and third party service professionals.</p></li><li><p>Self-motivated, good written and oral communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills</p></li></ul><p></p></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div><p>Target Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 USD</p><p></p><p>Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity.
