Your work will directly impact our success in the new discovery landscape, securing crucial presence, citations, and positive sentiment across Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative search.</p><p><strong>Partner with the best</strong></p><p>As a key driver of Akamai’s mission, you will shape and scale how our brand is visible, cited, and preferred across generative search, AI assistants, and emerging discovery channels. You’ll define the GEO and AI content development and distribution strategy, iterate the operating model, and deliver measurable gains in visibility and performance, anchored to the new consumer discovery landscape. In this role, you will be responsible for the creation and deployment of fundamental content inputs, including content briefs derived from entity maps, to fuel a brand-safe, high-quality, and scalable AI-driven content engine. Your work will evolve our technical foundations for structured content, establishing significant cross-functional partnerships, and maturing a framework for data and experimentation.<br> </p><p>As a GEO Marketing Specialist, you will be responsible for:</p><ul><li class="lst">Defining roadmap to maximize brand and product representation in generative search results and AI assistants</li><li class="lst">Tracking trends, insights and actions in the fast-changing GEO/AEO landscape</li><li class="lst">Identifying, recommend and collaborate cross-functionally on GEO-first content to outperform in the LLMs</li><li class="lst">Participating in the content operations process to ensure adherence to SEO and GEO best practices</li><li class="lst">Ensuring all content is optimized for both traditional SEO and emerging GEO requirements (answer-first formatting, entity optimization, structured content)</li><li class="lst">Establishing the operating model across the organization and governance to drive cross-functional integration and delivery</li><li class="lst">Measuring, monitoring and adjusting approach accordingly</li><li class="lst">Linking GEO outcomes to business KPIs</li><li class="lst">Personalizing approach by LLM for improved outcomes</li><li class="lst">Doing the technical work to make our digital properties consumable for LLMs</li><li class="lst">Supporting regional partners on country-level monitoring and insights</li></ul><p><strong>Do what you love</strong></p><p>To be successful in this role you will:</p><ul><li class="lst">2 years of relevant SEO, Content Marketing experience and a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent (GEO/AEO experience preferred)</li><li class="lst">Have an understanding of modern search + LLM ecosystems (including how answers get formed and when citations appear)</li><li class="lst">Be skilled using SEO technologies and AI tools (e.g. Ahrefs, Gemini, Scrunch, Profound) to accelerate research, mapping, and content systems</li><li class="lst">Have courage, a distinctive edge, and operate with a huge sense of urgency</li><li class="lst">Have the ability to think outside the box and present ideas that question the status quo</li><li class="lst">Pursue intellectual honesty throughout the organization in a way that doesn't just challenge, but results in better debate, better decision-making, and ultimately, better results</li><li class="lst">Have passion and commitment to the vision, and are capable of brining that vision to reality</li><li class="lst">Embrace the mantra "we can move mountains" wherein no challenge seems overwhelming and no obstacle is too difficult to overcome</li></ul><p><strong>Build your career at Akamai</strong></p><p>Our ability to shape digital life today relies on developing exceptional people like you. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $65,700 - $118,300/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
